It’s been a busy couple of months for Apple. Last month saw the launch of the Apple Watch, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus and with the latter, we also saw a few controversies along the way. Bendgate, hairgate and the whole U2 fiasco have made for an indifferent month for the tech giant.
Tomorrow, it’s the turn of Apple’s iPad event, but what will it bring? As always with Apple, official details have been scarce (although inevitable online leaks aren’t hard to find) with the event carrying the tagline ‘It’s been too long’. A few believe the tagline is simply Apple poking fun at themselves, after all the last event only feels like two minutes ago! But the likelihood of it is Apple will relaunch some of their most neglected products, namely Apple TV and the Mac Mini.
Of course, this is all just speculation but one thing we definitely know, is that there will be a new iPad unveiled. An iPad Air 2, an iPad mini 3and a new ‘iPad Pro’ are all rumoured alongside the launch of the highly anticipated OS X Yosemite, and possibly a Retina iMac.
So what will the new iPads bring? It’s probably a safe bet to suggest that Apple will launch at least two new devices with a higher spec version of the iPad Air and a new version of the iPad mini the most likely out of all the touted rumours. Speculation surrounding an iPad Pro is extremely rife, an iPad which would be a staggering 12.9 inches – 3 inches bigger than the iPad Air! This would be powered by A8X processor, a much more powerful version of the microchip featured in the iPhone 6. But a model of such a size does seem unlikely.
We strongly expect there to be an iPad Air 2 along with an iPad Mini 3, but we also expect there to be a few extras thrown in.
